Loma Linda is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States incorporated in 1970. The population was 18,681 at the 2000 census. As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 18,681 people, 7,536 households, and 4,498 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,541.7 people per square mile (981.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 54.18% White, 7.21% African American, 0.49% Native American, 24.38% Asian, 0.18% Pacific Islander, 7.51% from other races, and 6.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 16.33% of the population.

Loma Linda University is located here. It is a Christian, health-sciences institution with a world-renowned Medical Center and Schools of Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Religion, and Science and Technology with student enrollment around 4,000. Notable firsts at the Loma Linda University Medical Center include baboon-to-human heart transplant and the first split-brain surgery.

Loma Linda is a center of activity for the Seventh-day Adventist Churches and many residents of Loma Linda are adherents to this Christian denomination. (Source: wikipedia.org) San Bernardino County has one of the largest Indonesian communities in the country. It is based on the Statistic from Indonesian Consulate in Los Angeles. The 2000 U.S. census lists 3,301 Indonesians in San Bernardino County and 5,626 in Los Angeles County, although it showed that the Indonesian population doubled in San Bernardino County between 1990 and 2000 and fell 13 percent in Los Angeles County.

Many Indonesian Christians are Seventh-day Adventists who settled in the Loma Linda area because of the large Seventh-day Adventist presence there.
